Monica Pedroza (Internal Auditor-Accounting) |
Hi, Team! I have been part of TekWissen since May 2019, starting as an intern, being promoted to Internal Auditing Coordinator, and then becoming the head of the US Accounting department since December 2020. As an immigrant, single mother, and student, my journey with the company has been both challenging and enjoyable. I really appreciate it. being part of a company of visionaries who value and respect your efforts, dedication and commitment. One of my proudest achievements in the company has been structuring and consolidating a stronger Accounting Department. Among my responsibilities is overseeing that all our companies comply with federal, state, and local US agencies regulations, as well as supervising and ensuring that every Accounting cycle is closed accordingly, addressing any type of discrepancy. Some other responsibilities include helping to keep the books accurate and up-to-date and paying some of our vendors in the US and Canada in a timely manner. I am very happy and excited to be part of the new TekWissen adventure with Recruitment Entrepreneur on which I am responsible for organizing, coordinating, and monitoring the Accounting functions for our US Joint Venture and our entrepreneurs. I have a very diverse background. In the Accounting/Business field, I have an Associate Degree in Accounting, a Certificate in Core Business Skills, and I am about to finish my Bachelor of Science in Accounting next month. Before Accounting, I already had Fashion design, Baking and Pastry Arts Degrees, from which I have had the opportunity to explore my entrepreneur side. In my free time, I volunteer as part of the Washtenaw Community College Business Advisory Board and as a tax preparer for low-income individuals. I also teach Spanish and enjoy translating and interpreting for the Spanish-speaking community, since I have also received the preparation to do so. |
